Sensei Meeder - The rock

1984 – Justin J. Meeder was born the oldest of four and raised by his parents, Jeffrey and Janice Meeder, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

1992 – After watching a martial arts demonstration put on by Master J. Brown and his students, Sensei Meeder decided to begin studying the martial arts for himself.  Sensei Meeder decided very early on that he would make the martial arts a lifelong pursuit.

1999 – Received the rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt) in Tae Kwon Do, Goshin Jutsu Ryu Karate, and Aikido.  This made Sensei Meeder the youngest of Master Brown’s black belts to date at age 15.  This rank cam after many years of hard work and determination.

2000 – Sensei Meeder began to study and teach Issho-Ryu under the guidance of Master J. Brown.

2002 – Graduated from Girard High School in Girard, PA and received his Nidan (2nd degree black belt).  At this time, Sensei Meeder also enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh to gain higher education and to broaden his perspective of martial arts training by studying Shotokan Karate and Kodokan Judo.

2006 – Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics.

Sensei Meeder has great loyalty to his home martial arts school and instructor, and can be seen training with Master Brown during his times off while he visits home.  He also tries to hold up the principles of Issho-Ryu by volunteering and giving back to his community whenever possible
June 14, 2007 - Sensei Meeder received his promotion to 3rd degree black belt.  During the ceremony, a special honor was bestowed upon him.  He was presented with his instructor's 3rd degree black belt.  The belt which Kyoshi Brown once wore when he was a sandan is now being entrusted to Sensei Meeder to guard and wear with pride until the time when he will continue the tradition of passing on the belt by giving it to another deserving member of the United Systems Association.
